ABSTRACT
Se realiza una revisión actualizada de aspecto bioquímico del surfactante pulmonar. Se analiza la composición fosfolipídica del pulmón y se resalta como componente mayor la fosfatidilcolina, así como su distribución simétrica en ácidos grasos. Se plantea la composición del surfactante pulmonar, el cual es rico en lípidos (79 al 90 %), de éstos predominan los fosfolípidos con el 80 al 90 % del total de lípidos. Se discute el lugar de origen del surfactante pulmonar, así como los organitos que se ven involucrados hasta su secreción
